I've been browsing for a few days as I'm looking for a third phone for business.

With all these issues at hand with Samsung blocking call recording (with S9), would you advise I gear towards a Pixel 2 (small) or another Galaxy S8?

I'm looking to choose a phone where call recording won't be an issue at least for the next 1-2 years. So I wanted to see from a developers' perspective as to which phone would have the least issues.

FYI, I'm located in the U.S.

Thoughts?

Galaxy S9, S8
At this moment Galaxy S9 and S8 record calls perfectly in all countries (of course include USA), no root needed. Please use Boldbeast Recorder V11.2 that works great, old versions don't work well.

Google Pixel 2
At this moment Google Pixel 2 record calls very well in some countries, no root needed. However in some countries the call recording feature is disabled, you can only record your own voice, the caller's voice is very weak in recordings, no matter what recorder you are using in the market. In this case you should root the phone, then Boldbeast Recorder can fix it perfectly.

Users reported in USA Pixel 2 from Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T works well, no root needed.

Next 1-2 years
In the future after new ROM updates do they still work well? I'm afraid no one knows. It's possible the manufacturer enables or disables the call recording feature in new ROM updates by it's own policy. If it no longer works you should root the phone, then we can fix it.
