Please disable the "Start Input Stream" option to avoid the problem in your LineageOS 15.1.

I edited my post. Disabling it makes it not crash, but audio is still heavily distorted and doesn't seem to record the other side. (Can't tell 100% because of the distortion though)

EDIT: With Start Input Stream off and using the second recording preset posted in the OP this is the quality I get. I can hear the other side.
