In my home office I run wi-fi calling because of a cell strength issue. When using the Boldbeast app I get a note that says, "Voip calls cannot be recorded...". I thought Boldbeast could work with wi-fi calling? What am I doing wrong?
I found an old post from 2015 in this forum where the admin says wi-fi recording is not supported. Please confirm that this is still the case.
Voip calls such as Skype, WhatsApp, Viber, WeChat, Hangouts etc cannot be recorded,
- no matter what Android phone you are using.
- no matter what Android version you are running, even the latest version (currently Android 7.1).
- no matter what recorder in the market you are using.
This is limited by Android. Only normal calls can be recorded.
How about "call via wifi"?
Some phones treat "call via wifi" as a normal call so it can be recorded, some phones treat it as a voip call so it can't be recorded - it totally depends on the ROM.
