I'm looking to upgrade my device soon and investigating the right device for me and also compatible with my carrier. I have done some Boldbeast forum searches for compatibility on the various devices I am considering, but I wasn't able to find any info on the BlackBerry DTEK50 or DTEK60. Can anyone tell me if Boldbeast works on these BB devices in normal call mode and Bluetooth? Do they require root? Thanks in advance.
BlackBerry DTEK50 uses the Qualcomm MSM8952 chip, BlackBerry DTEK60 uses the Qualcomm MSM8996 chip. Boldbeast Recorder supports both MSM8952 and MSM8996, by default no root needed.
Please use these settings to record calls:
- Record Mode: 1
- Tune Audio Effect: No
- Tune Audio Route: Group3
Confirmed by users with BlackBerry DTEK50 STH100 phones and BlackBerry DTEK60 BBA100 phones, they work well without root.
As for bluetooth, there is a bug in the "audio driver" provided by Qualcomm company, if BlackBerry company has fixed it that's OK. Otherwise the bug remains in the ROM (like many other phones that use the same MSM8952 / MSM8996 chip), as a result bluetooth recording doesn't work well, no matter what recorder in the market you are using. In this case you should root the phone, then Boldbeast Recorder can fix the bluetooth problem perfectly.
Without bluetooth - they work well, no root needed.
With bluetooth - so far we have no feedback from users, don't know if root is needed or not. Feedbacks are welcomed.
