Hi,
I have galaxy S2 i9100 with CM11, I have tried your recommended settings:

It works intermitantly.

When I start recording the other person cant hear me. I need to mute and un-mute for them to hear me?

Can you please advise a fix?

The call recording behaviour of CM ROMs are different from version to version, from release date to release date.
For example it records calls well currently, but may not work in the next update, however it works again in the later update.

If possible please use the suggested CM11 version for your GT-I9100.
Try to change the "Tune Samsung3" item to other options and test again.
