No root needed, Galaxy S5 SM-G900F records calls perfectly in two directions, just install Boldbeast Recorder and go.

Android 4.x and 5.x please use these settings to record calls:

- Record Mode: 4
- Tune Samsung1: No
- Tune Samsung2: No
- Tune Samsung3: No
- Tune Audio Route: No

Android 6.x please see the post #6 bellow.

There is a bug inside the Android 4.4.2 ROM.

When you make an outgoing call or when an incoming call comes, sometimes the ROM doesn't notify the telephone number to the recorder. As a result the recorder doesn't know the direction and the number of the call. Anyway the call can still be recorded and saved correctly with the "Unknown" contact name.

Don't know if Samsung has fixed the bug or not in the Android 5.x ROM.

HI, there is an issue with Video calls on s5. When Blodybeasts automatic recording function is active there is no sound from my phone (second side of videocall doesn't hear me) when I turn off bloodyeast recording function there is no problem. Maybe you can add option turning off recording during videocall?

A user said Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 has the same problem - during video call the audio doesn't work well. He enabled the "Tune Samsung1" option in Boldbeast Recorder, then video calls work well.

Does this way work for your Galaxy S5 SM-G900F?

- Call Settings - Incoming Calls - Auto Detect Max Time (Seconds): 3 -----------> change to 100
- Call Settings - Incoming Calls - Restart Recording Upon Answered: Yes

- Call Settings - Outgoing Calls - Auto Detect Answered State: Yes
- Call Settings - Outgoing Calls - Auto Detect Max Time (Seconds): 15
