Recording files in wav above 32 kHz is not working.
Everything above makes 8 kHz wav-files instead of selected sample-rate.
(I know recording that high doesn't make sense :)
Its that a bug or a phone limitation?

If you record a Memo, you can use any sample rate as long as the hardware of your phone supports it.
If you record a Call, you can only use 8000 HZ, this is limited by the network/hardware. Some phones can use 16000 HZ if the network/hardware support it.
I only use call recording, and it does make files at 32Khz sample-rate.
There is absolutely a notable quality difference between the 8Khz recording and the 32Khz recording when played back.
Does that mean that the phones hardware is capable of recording in 32Khz (and not the maximum 16Khz you mention) ?
/Michael.
For example if you set 32000 HZ in the app, the app will ask Android "please record the call in 32000 HZ",
- some phones refuse to do so therefore recording fails.
- some phones automatically resample the audio from 8000/16000 HZ to 32000 HZ therefore it works.
In this case in theory the quality of 32000 HZ is the same as 8000/16000 HZ.
If you feel 32000 HZ is better, maybe there is something I don't know. So please use 32000 HZ to record in your phone.
I cant say if its a 16000 Hz re-sampled to 32000, its possible. I haven't made a quality test on that.
But thanks for explanation :)
/Michael.
